This report contains tabulations of abundance of zooplankton other than Copepoda collected from Fletcher's Ice Island (T-3) on a drift track in the Canadian Basin of the Arctic Ocean during 1966 and 1967. Samples were taken, using a plankton-pumping system, at 5-m depth intervals from 5 to 185 m, and with two sizes of closing plankton nets at intervals between 0 and 2000m. The organisms were identified and enumerated as 44 categories of species and larger taxonomic groups. Data for each sample include the sampling gear used, the date, time, and depth of sampling; the number of categories in the sample; and the volume of water filtered; these data were collected to begin a description of the vertical and seasonal distributions of zooplankton as part of a long-term study of primary productivity and energy flow in the Arctic Ocean. The Copepods associated with these samples can be found in Scott, D.A. and T.Saunders English Copepoda collected from Fletcher’s Ice Island (T-3) in the Canadian Basin of the Arctic Ocean in 1966 and 1967. Purpose:
The objectives of this portion of the study were; (1) to evaluate the effectiveness of a plankton-pumping system and two sizes of plankton nets for sampling zooplankton other than copepods from Fletcher's Ice Island (T-3), and (2) to obtain a description of the vertical and seasonal distributions of the zooplankton.

Taxonomic_Procedures:
The samples were analyzed in the Department of Oceanography, University of Washington. Since the number of animals was small, no sub-sampling was done. The organisms to be counted were placed in a clear plastic tray 6 x 7 cm, marked with a 1-cm grid and observed with a binocular microscope. All of the zooplankton other than copepods were examined and enumerated within 44 categories of species and larger taxonomic groups.

Between June and October, 1966 and in February 1967, 399 zooplankton samples were collected with a plankton-pumping system. From July to September 1967, 69 samples were collected with a modified Juday closing net 1m in diameter with a 215 um Nitex mesh. In September 1967, 58 samples were collected with a newly designed net that had a square mouth opening 2m on a side. The filtering area, monofilament Nitex with a mesh aperture 215 um was a 2m square pyramid about 3m long. The volume of water filtered by the nets was estimated by multiplying the area of the mouth opening by the depth interval sampled. The 1-m net samples in the summer of 1967 covered depth intervals of 10m. In September 1967, the 1-m and 2-m nets sampled 20m intervals to 200 m, 50 m intervals from 200-300m, 100m intervals from 300 to 1000m, and 500m intervals from 1000 to 2000m. The samples were preserved in 5% formaldehyde solution buffered with sodium borate.
